Korean Girl has gone MIA
I'm curious as to what happened to Jang Da Yun. It seems she's gone MIA, nothing has really come of her, I checked some threads on forums and the general consenus is she's done nothing at all. I'm not even sure what the original plans for Jang could have been, I mean soloist, new group (in Korea or Japan), egg, talento/ spokesperson? Any ideas?
The only speculations I could come up with on what happened are these.
1. Not enough money, with sales being low and generally the popularity fading even more I don't think there's enough money to do something as solo, but new group (especially in Korea) seems out of the question after all the money an time was spent on S/mileage.
2. Loss of interest. It seems since nothing has happened Jang's plans been put on a indefinite hiatus? Maybe waiting for the "right" moment to debut her?
3. Still training. It's possible though she was t be trained "Japanese style" which only takes a few months to 1 year. It took the 6th gen around 5months after winning the auditions. Training Korean style takes between 2-10 years (at least what I've seen) so I hope Japanese style is right.
4. Let go, fired, resigned, left. Anyway you want to put it maybe Jang decided not to continue and left one way or another and hasn't made an announcement. Not like we've heard any announcements from Ice Creamusume either. They did well on the Chinese charts hitting #11 in the second week, and nothing has come of them. I guess they didn't do well in Japan nothing happens? A shame.
I mean she's like 14-15-ish and Koharu left at 18, so they must really be conjuring up something to keep her around a "normal idol shelf-life". Koharu pretty much lived the amount of years/popularity most average idols do. I'm curious on how Takahashi has stayed around for so long (other than her popularity). She's been a lead since Do it! Now, and very prominent since Shabondama.
Well, nonetheless it will be interesting to see how the Jang Da Yun card is played, it's not like Musume has done anything special in Korea besides a concert and merchandise being released there. Not like with China, whom they've been to many expos and special/press events to get the name out there. That's kinda why I'm leaning to a Korean spokesperson, but she's much too young.
*sigh* What a waste of talent we'll probably never hear.

interesting... Mano Erina's support by the agency has lessened and she has already made her major debut.
